Kompetensi Kepribadian
® Kompetensi kepribadian merupakan kemampuan personal yang mencerminkan:
1. kepribadian mantap,dan stabil,
2. dewasa,
3. arif,
4. berwibawa, menjadi teladan bagi peserta didik, dan
5. berakhlak mulia.
Kompetensi Pedagogik
- pemahaman terhadap peserta didik,
- perancangan pembelajaran,
- pelaksanaan pembelajaran,
- evaluasi pembelajaran, dan
- pengembangan peserta didik untuk mengaktualisasikan berbagai potensi yang dimilikinya
Kompetensi Profesional
® Penguasaan materi pembelajaran secara luas dan mendalam, yang mencakup
1. penguasaan materi kurikulum mata pelajaran di sekolah dan substansi keilmuan yang menaungi materinya, serta
2. penguasaan terhadap stuktur dan metodologi keilmuannya.
Subkompetensi profesional
® Indikator esensial:
1. memahami materi ajar yang ada dalam kurikulum sekolah;
2. memahami struktur, konsep dan metode keilmuan yang menaungi atau koheren dengan materi ajar;
3. memahami hubungan konsep antarmata pelajaran terkait; dan
4. menerapkan konsep-konsep keilmuan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
5. menguasai langkah-langkah penelitian dan kajian kritis untuk memperdalam pengetahuan/materi bidang studi.
Kompetensi Sosial
- Mampu berkomunikasi dan bergaul secara efektif dengan peserta didik. Subkompetensi ini memiliki indikator esensial: berkomunikasi secara efektif dengan peserta didik.
- Mampu berkomunikasi dan bergaul secara efektif dengan sesama pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan.
- Mampu berkomunikasi dan bergaul secara efektif dengan orang tua/wali peserta didik dan masyarakat sekitar.

Teachers as prompters
Ex:
® Teachers should be ready to help students when the students lost words to be used in a role play.
® The teacher need to prompt the students sensitively and encouragingly.
Teachers as participants
® Join in a class activity not as a teacher but as participant.
® Avoid the danger of dominating the proceedings in the discussion.
Teachers as a Resource Person
Examples:
® Be ready to help students without spoon feeding
® Tell them how and where can they find the information they are looking for something—a book or a web site
® Direct the students to locate the meaning of words they are looking for in a monolingual dictionary rather than explaining the meaning of the words.
TEACHER STANDAR
Standard 1: Planning
® Teachers understand and are able to plan instruction for student learning, adjust instruction in relation to ongoing learning, and follow-up on student learning.
Standard 2: Instructing
® Teachers provide learning opportunities that create active and respectful engagement among learners and between learners and the teacher.
Standard 3: Assessing
® Teachers recognize the importance of and are able to gather and interpret information about learning and performance in order to ensure the continuous intellectual and social development of each student. Teachers use knowledge of student performance to make decisions about future and planning and instruction "in situ" and for the future.
Standard 4: Identity and settings
® Teachers understand the importance of who learners are and how their communities, heritages and goals shape their learning and expectations of learning. Teachers recognize the importance of the socio-cultural and sociopolitical settings - home, community, workplace and school - that contributing to creating identity and therefore influence learning.
Standard 5: Language
® Teachers understand and recognize the importance of the structure and function of language.
Standard 6: Learning
® Teachers understand and foster the learning process in formal and non-formal settings. To that end, teachers understand the characteristics of language and the place language plays in language learning and help learners understand what language is and how language learning works.
Standard 7: Content
® Teachers understand and recognize the importance of the connections among concepts, procedures, and applications from content areas relevant to learners in furthering their language proficiency. Teachers may understand the content themselves, may collaborate with content area specialists, or may identify appropriate strategies to help the learners discover the content themselves.
Standard 8: Developing Professionalism
® Teachers understand the nature of EFL teaching as part of and in relation to the broader community, the broader teaching community, and the community of English language teaching professionals.
